Festa da Cereja – Alcongosta

This annual festival celebrates the regional cherry harvest in the village of Alcongosta, organized with the support of the Fundão municipality. The event features a packed three-day schedule packed with street entertainment, including traditional drumming groups, local concertina bands, stilt walkers, brass bands, and a dedicated children’s area. Highlights include live cooking show demonstrations featuring Chef João Lopes and the Professional School of Fundão, a guided cherry route walk, and a special cherry tourist train running throughout the weekend. The main musical entertainment features evening concerts by Moustache Brass Band, João Só, and an accordion ensemble performance at the local main church.
