Festa em Honra de Nossa Senhora do Carmo – Souto

Celebrate rich religious traditions and lively community entertainment at this multi-day festival honoring Nossa Senhora do Carmo. The event features a diverse musical lineup including a headline performance by well-known artist Rui Bandeira, alongside live shows from Grupo Musical Alvorada and Grupo Show Band, as well as multiple traditional fireworks displays. The festival heavily highlights traditional instrumentation and philharmonic music, featuring performances by the Grupo de Bombos do Vale, Sociedade Musical Arcuense, Banda Marginal Fermentelos from Águeda, Banda Musical Aboím da Nóbrega, and the Grupo de Gaitas de Cardielos from Viana do Castelo. Religious and cultural events stretch across several weeks, including a flag-raising ceremony in June, preparatory novenas, a moving candlelit procession, a solemn mass with a sermon accompanied by the local choral group, the delivery of the scapular to new members, and a grand majestic procession featuring various religious floats, allegorical figures, and confraternities.
