Festa do Santíssimo Sacramento – Vila Nova Souto D’El Rei

Enjoy four days of community fun, sports, and religious traditions at this local summer festival. The event kicks off on Friday with a morning awakening (alvorada), followed by an evening spit-roasted pork dinner (Porco no Espeto) with inflatables for entertainment, and a concert by the group “USKADKASA”. Saturday features a traditional single vs. married football match (Solteiros Vs Casados), a live show by “Brisa do Marão”, a musical fireworks display (Fogo de Artifício Piromusical), and a late-night set by DJ Afropeet. Sunday opens with a street parade by the “Sociedade Filarmónica Cabanas de Viriato”, a solemn mass, a churchyard concert by the same philharmonic band, a majestic procession honoring the Santíssimo Sacramento, and an evening performance by “Sintonia 2”. The festival concludes on Monday with a mass and a grand pilgrimage (Grande Romaria) honoring Sr. dos Aflitos (Sr. da Ponte).
