Festa das Peñas – Nave de Haver

A three-day summer festival deeply rooted in equestrian and bullfighting traditions, heavily featuring border-region cultural influences. Friday kicks off with a kids’ mock bull run, a bull release, a flamenco or Spanish dance performance by Taconeos de la Raia, and live music from Grupo Alkar. Saturday features the Interpeñas gathering, a major mixed bullfight featuring 6 bulls from Paulo Caetano with horsemen João Moura Caetano and Paco Velásquez, matador Manuel Dias Gomes, and forcing groups from Alcochete and Aposento da Moita, followed by evening music from Grupo La Rebelion. Sunday concludes with a horseback bull herding event, a horse riders’ lunch, a garraiada heifer release with entertainment, a live performance by Organista Beto, and a closing DJ set.
