Feasts in Honor of Our Lady of Salvation, 16, 17, and 18 May 2025, in Gilmonde – Barcelos
The Committee of Feasts in Honor of Our Lady of Salvation in collaboration with the Parish of Santa Maria de Gilmonde presents the Feasts in Honor Of Our Lady of Salvation, to be held between May 16th and 18th, with a religious and festive program that resumes the pre-pandemic model and execution of the deep restoration and rehabilitation works of the chapel, completed in September 2023.
Our Lady of Salvation is a Marian title that refers to Mary’s fundamental role in the story of salvation, from her “yes” to God’s will. The invocation “Our Lady of Salvation” also indicates the ability of Mary to intercede for us with her Son, Jesus.
PROGRAM:
16 MAY, Friday.
9:00 PM: EUCHARIST AND CANDLE PROCESSION
Eucharist in the Chapel of Our Lady of Salvation, followed by Candle Procession with the procession of Our Lady of the Salvation, accompanied by the Fanfare of the Scouts of Thousands. Course: Our Lady of Salvation Chapel > Our Lady of Salvation Processional Cruise > Our Lady of salvation Chapel)

9:30PM ATLANTIS BAND PERFORMING
The chapel will be open tonight for the andores exhibition.

11:00 AM: SOLEMN EUCHARIST IN HONOR OF OUR LADY OF SALVATION
Campal Eucharist in honor of Our Lady of Salvation next to his chapel, presided by Father Bruno Lopes and animated musically by the Gilmonde Choir Group;
4:00PM: MARIAN PRAYER AND MAJESTIC SOLEMN PROCESSION
Marian Prayer, followed by Majestic Solemn Procession with various walkers and figures, fellowships and various parochial, association and cultural movements of Gilmonde, accompanied by Fanfarra
from Scouts of Thousands; Course: Chapel of Our Lady of Salvation > Processional Cruise of Our Lady of the Salvation > Chapel of Our lady of Salvation;
5:30 FOLK RANCH PERFORMANCE
Entrance to the folk ranch of the Saint Maria de Gilmonde Ethnographic Association, and the Gilmonde ADRC Ethnographic Dance and Singers Group. Finally ending the festivities with firework session
