Festas em Honra de S. Tiago – Vila Chã, Alijó

Immerse yourself in four days of faith, party, and tradition honoring Saint James. The festival kicks off on Friday evening with a candlelit procession (Procissão de Velas) followed by a late-night set by DJ Jony. Saturday brings a Torneio de Cepo with traditional prizes (including salpicões, Port wine, and Favaios), an evening concert by Banda Rilufe, and an “After Hours” party. Sunday is packed with traditional events, starting with a 21-mortar salute dawn awakening (alvorada), performances by the Grupo de Bombos de Parada de Cunhos and the Banda Filarmónica de Alfândega da Fé, a solemn mass, a majestic main procession, and a closing evening dance featuring Diapasão. The festivities wrap up on Monday with the opening of the S. Tiago bazaar, a dance performance by Daniel Moutinho, and a closing ceremony.
