DESCRIPTION:So many colours and even more emotions\, all this on the poster for the 2026 Ovar Carnival\, which has just been officially presented. From January 24th to February 17th\, the most emblematic event in the municipality is back. Thousands of vareiros join to bring to the streets the identity of a Carnival with history and passion. There will be 12 iconic moments that demonstrate the genuineness of the traditions and that affirm this initiative as one of the great festivals of this country. The city of Ovar will once again become a major stage\, and the fun promises to be contagious. Between concerts and DJ sets\, there are more than 60 proposals\, a Carnival in which everyone takes place. The Vitamin of Joy® is back\, with the same authenticity as always and more innovative and vibrant than ever.

DESCRIPTION:The Feira do Adro (Churchyard Fair) and the religious feast of Nossa Senhora da Purificação (Our Lady of Purification)\, taking place in Olival\, Ourém\, Portugal\, on February 1 and 2\, 2026. \nEvent Highlights\n\n\nFeira do Adro: A centenary “free fair” traditional to this region. It is often called the “Festa dos Pinhões” (Pine Nut Feast) because pine nut necklaces are a signature product sold there. \n\n\nReligious Observances: The event honours Our Lady of Purification (also known as Senhora das Candeias). Key ceremonies include a Procession of Candles on Sunday evening and a Solemn Mass on Monday with a special blessing for children\, mothers\, and pregnant women. \n\n\nFood and Drink: A restaurant and bar (the Barraquinha dos festeiros) will serve traditional regional dishes such as: \n\n\nStewed Lamb (Borrego Guisado) and Roast Chicken (Frango Assado). \n\n\nStone Soup (Sopa da pedra) and Bifanas (pork sandwiches). \n\n\nSopas de Verde\, a specific local speciality typically served for dinner. \n\n\n\n\nEntertainment: Musical performances will be provided by the group Amigos da Gandaia\, an accordion/concertina association based in Olival.
